Redemption Lutheran Church- Sterling Hts- A+

I first met with Joe from Redemption Lutheran almost 2 months before my wedding as I was having major church issues. Joe was awesome from beginning to end. He is the coordinator and organist at Redemption and played at my wedding. He did a fantastic job and was excellent at returning phone calls whenever I was unable to get ahold of him. Unfortunetly, Redemption lost their pastor and I had to bring in a Lutheran Missouri Synod pastor for our ceremony, once I found the pastor, Joe had all communication with him and kept him in the loop every step of the way. Redemption is a smaller church that seats 150 people but for the price you cant beat it anywhere else. Plus, we didnt have to be members although the care we received made us feel like we were.

The Imperial House- Clinton Twp: A+

The staff at Imperial House was awesome from beginning to end. I mostly dealt with Vicky and she also was great at answering any and all questions I had about the hall, she really is a sweetheart and knows her stuff. Guests kept coming up to us all night telling us how excellent the food was... and let me tell you from my tasting to the day of the wedding it was awesome. The hall is gorgeous and has so much to offer. The staff was fantastic and made some special accommodations for  my guests. My grandma wanted a certain wine that wasnt included in the bar package we got but they still gave it to her at no extra charge to us. Also, my other grandma only drinks tomato juice and bloody marys and they usually don't have any tomato juice but they were sure to have it on the day of for her. Plus, Vicky told us if we wanted any special liquor that we could bring it in to the hall and they would keep it behind the bar for our drinks. They also let us come in on Thursday after they had everything set up and let us set up the table runners, chair covers (because I only did chair covers for the head table) and a few odd and end things that I wanted to set up on my own. The reception went off without a hitch and I owe many thanks to Vicky and the staff at the Imperial House. If you check them out please tell them that Jackie sent you.

DOC- A Beautiful Day Events: A+

What can I say about Rachel... she is SO organized and truly LOVES what she does. She treats weddings as if they are her own. She takes attention to all the little details in everything that comes along with a wedding. I contacted Rachel because I had heard so much about her work and have seen it with my own eyes and I am so glad I decided to hire a DOC. The last thing you want to worry about is sending someone from your family or even a friend to get things set up and make sure everything is running smoothly because remember that family member or friend wants to enjoy your wedding day as much as you. I cant tell you how happy I was to get a DOC. I didnt worry about a thing the entire day because I had Rachel. She kept me and my MOH in the loop the entire day. Rachel even drove out of her way to meet me at my hall so she could look at the set up and work her magic. She got a timeline together and forwarded it to every single vendor of mine. On the day of she went and got the hall all set up exactly how I had imagined it and met me at the church where she lined everyone up and made sure we started on time. After the ceremony she made sure we were ok and then headed back to the hall to get the final touches on everything and to see that the other vendors had made it there. I didnt notice a thing that went wrong and that is all due to Rachel and her hard work. Everything looked gorgeous. She kept checking on me & DH all night to make sure we didnt need anything and that we were ok. She really knows how to make someone feel special. I cant thank her enough and tell you enough to HIRE A DOC!!!

Pastor Koy- Utica MI: A

Pastor Koy did a wonderful job performing our ceremony. He made it so personal and brought who we are as a couple and individually into the ceremony. We received tons of compliements on how great he was, and how the ceremony was very touching. Pastor Koy is the head pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica, where you have to be a member to get married there. The first time I spoke to him on the phone he was so incredibly nice and had no problem coming to Redemption for our ceremony. We had 1 hiccup at the ceremony when Pastor Koy forgot to get Brad and the best man out of the grooms suite at the beginning of the ceremony so it had started without Brad and the best man, but before I knew it, Rachel ran and got him before I started down the aisle. All in all it was a great ceremony and Pastor Koy was excellent.

BM Hair & Makeup- Deux Adore: A+

Jen and Stephanie come highly recommended on the board and Jen did my make up for my bpics. I had already had my hair and make up booked for the wedding but the bridesmaids wanted me to bring someone in for them. After seeing Jen and Stephanie first hand at the bpic marathon shoot, I knew I had to book them. They were great communicating with me and showed up on time and ready to go. I did not hear 1 complaint from any of the girls, they loved their hair and make up. I definetly recommend them over and over again. They have such talent and they are both such sweethearts, plus they have no problem traveling to you. Pics to follow shortly.

Bride's Hair- Ken Paves Salon, Clinton Twp MI- Stylist Lisa McAllister: A+

Lisa came on location to the Best Western in Roseville and started on my hair right away. Lisa is SO much fun and a fabulous hair stylist. I go to her regularly to get my hair done and I have loved her ever since. She LOVES what she does and she is known as the up-do master at the salon. I had no doubts about her what so ever. I showed her some pictures of what I wanted and she did exactly what I had imagined only 10 times better. I loved my hair and couldnt of been happier with the outcome. I definetly recommend her to anyone even for just a regular sylist. If you see her tell her Jackie sent you. Pics to follow shortly.

Bride's Makeup- All The Glamour & More: A+

Kendra is my MOH sister who does airbrush makeup. I had booked her after seeing her talent at work. She did my makeup trial for my shower and for my bparty and I received many compliements on how great it was. Plus, it held up all night at my bparty and any makeup that holds up through a bparty is awesome in my book. Kendra only does foundation airbrushing nothing else, she likes to work with her brushes and do the eyes all herself. After she was done with my makeup she had my photographer take a picture to see how it looked on camera and I thought that was an excellent idea. My makeup never once felt heavy or thick like you would think it would with airbrush makeup and it lasted all night with no touch-ups needed. I definetly would recommend her and again if you contact her tell her Jackie sent you. Pics to follow shortly.

Pete's Limos- A

I contacted Pete's Limos after my MOH booked them for my bparty. Pete was great! He showed up on time and knew exactly where he was going at all times. We rented the Escalade for 3 hrs on the day of the wedding and we got an excellent price. Negotiate with him and he will lower his price, trust me! Pete picked us up from our hotel and took us to the church. When we got to the church there was a TON of people outside and they all where trying to catch a glimpse of me, but I wasnt having it. With the help of Rachel directing people back into the church and the fact that Pete had a huge umbrella on hand I was hidden and no one saw me. After the ceremony we went to Dodge Park for pictures and Pete broke out his very own set of Bride & Groom toasting flutes for us which I thought was so sweet of him. Pete's driving was great and the limo was clean. Often you hear about the horror stories of bad limo companies or bad limo drivers and we had no problems with Pete's Limos at all. I would recommend them.

Kate Lees- KBL Photography: A+

When I first met with Kate, I loved her! I first contacted her after seeing a recommendation on the board, I checked out her website and emailed her immediatly. She responded almosty immediatly and we set a meeting up. Throughout our meeting I realized Kate was so easy to get along with and was very easy to talk to. I booked her right then and there. Kate offers brides on a budget packages which was exactly what we were looking for. Yes, photography is one of the most important vendors on your wedding day, but we couldnt afford spending $2000+ on a photographer. Kate never let us down once. Her photos dont reflect her prices what so ever. She is so creative and does amazing things with light. On our wedding day she showed up on time and ready to go. While I was getting my hair and makeup done she took a few shots and then grabbed my dress, flowers, jewelry, shoes, etc to take seperate pictures. I hardly knew Kate was there at all throughout the entire day. I cannot recommend her enough and tell you how great she is. Tell her Jackie sent you.

Dj Dave- Solid Gold Sound: A

I had booked Dj Dave based on several recommendations from friends and family of mine that had used him or have been to a wedding in which he was the dj. I had no problems at all with Dave, he was exactly what I was looking for. His interaction with crowd and personality really kept the dance floor packed. My DOC had a seperate issue with him because he arrived later then he was supposed to. Part of it was my fault because I forgot to inform Solid Gold that I had switched my reception time from 7-1am to 6-12am, but Rachel had still sent Solid Gold the day of timeline and it wasnt acknowledged. All in all he was there before guests arrived and I take blame for him being late. One thing in particular that I loved about Dave was when my MOH was giving her speech and the mic started to go out, Dave immediatly was there to switch the mic out with a backup one and MOH continued like nothing ever happened. I really cant say enough about how important the music/dj is to a wedding (along with food of course) and I really feel Dj Dave accomplished what I was looking for and what I wanted my reception to be like. I'm really not kidding when I say that he is very good at what he does and kept the dance floor packed ALL night. We still get compliments on how great the music was. I def. recommend him and once again tell him Jackie sent you.

BM dresses & Brides Dress- Davids Bridal: B+

What can I say about Davids... luckily, I wasnt one of the ones that had all the problems and horror stories that you hear about with them. I found my dress, ordered it and it came in like 3 weeks later. Same thing with the BM dresses, ordered them and they came in about 6-8 weeks. I did NOT do alterations there because I was warned ahead of time. My only complaint is that I feel they are very un-organized. Our assistant kept leaving us in the dressing room with no dresses to try on, so we had to take it upon ourselves to rummage through the dresses and try them on. Everyone has their own opionion about Davids and all I can say is I had no problems and would recommend them but beware ahead of time.

Cake- Tina's Cakes: A+

Tina is a friend and wife of one of the GM and I had decided to ask her to make my cake for me. I'd had seen her work at birthday parties and holiday parties as those are the types of cakes she specializes in. I thought I would help her expand her knowledge and try out some wedding cakes. Once I asked her and she agreed, I never looked back. The cake looked awesome and tasted amazing. I gave her photos of cakes I liked and she incorporated all 3 of the photos into my cake. I loved it and couldnt of asked for anything more. She is truly a sweetheart and I would def. recommend her for wedding cakes, birthday cakes, holiday cakes, etc. Tell her Jackie sent you. Photos to follow.

Rock the Booth- A+

I absolutely LOVED this vendor. I contacted RTB after going to a bridal show and seeing one by a different company. I fell in LOVE with photobooths from that point on, however, I could not justify spending over $1000 for one. Thats when RTB came into my life and I had booked them immediatly. Mara is so quick to respond to emails and their pricing cannot be beat. Yes, the saying is true "you get what you pay for" but not at all with RTB, trust me! I still get compliements on how nice Mara & Tyson were to everyone. Some photobooth companies only allow 2 strips of pictures to be printed... not RTB, they will print however many you want, no questions asked. I also had the scrapbook in my package and I LOVED IT!!! It was so fun to look at the day after the wedding and see how much fun everyone was having. Mara did a fabulous job designing the book as well. Also, within a matter of days.... DAYS.... I said, I got the cd in the mail with all of the photobooth pictures on it. Hurry and book them, you wont regret it!
